"HGTV Showdown" is a battle between mixed pairs of some of HGTV's most beloved hosts and designers. This Sunday, Carter Oosterhouse and Genevieve Gorder go head-to-head with Monica Pedersen and Eric Stromer to make over a Maryland couple's design-challenged family room. Each team has four hours to create a room that both husband and wife will love.

In each episode of "HGTV Showdown," two design teams battle side-by-side on stage as they make over the same room for a couple whose decorating styles differ. Starting with staged replicas of the original room, the design teams are given access to a "dream" design center that provides everything they need to completely transform the room. But here's the catch: Each team only has four hours to work their magic. Under the careful watch of the couple, the showdown is on to see which team will come up with the best design that meets the needs of both homeowners.
