RACHAEL RAY’S EMMY® AWARD-WINNING DAYTIME SHOW BRINGS WILMINGTON, OHIO THANKSGIVING ON MAIN STREET

Ray and Special Guest Nick Lachey Throw a Holiday
    Celebration for the Hard-Hit Community

NEW YORK, NY – Tuesday, November 23 – CBS Television Distribution’s RACHAEL RAY, winner of the 2008 and 2009 Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Talk Show, headed to Wilmington, Ohio to come to the aid of the local soup kitchen and gave the community a special Thanksgiving celebration in time for the holiday season.

Rachael Ray and her team, including Nick Lachey, Carter Oosterhouse and Kahi Lee adopted the local soup kitchen. They surprised them with a complete kitchen and pantry renovation along with a promise to stock their shelves for the year ahead. The show also helped the community come together for a Thanksgiving feast filled with surprises and special musical act The Fray at Roberts Convention Centre. RACHAEL RAY knows times are tough for this town and for many others across the country, but the show wanted to share the blessings of the season and remind the town of Wilmington that everyone has a reason to be thankful.

Like many towns in America, Wilmington is suffering a severe economic downturn. The DHL shipping center was the town’s largest employer, but shut down in January 2009 leaving thousands unemployed with little hope of finding another job in the area. With no options left, hungry residents are turning to the town’s only soup kitchen for help. The majority of people coming into the soup kitchen are former DHL employees, and the kitchen is overwhelmed with trying to feed 200 to 300 people per day instead of their normal few hundred a week.

The special one-hour episode of RACHAEL RAY’s “Thanksgiving on Main Street” taped in Wilmington on November 7 and 8 and is scheduled to air on November 25. Please check local listings at www.rachaelrayshow.com.

RACHAEL RAY, the 2008 and 2009 Emmy® Award-winning Outstanding Talk Show, is distributed and produced by CBS Television Distribution in association with Harpo Productions, Scripps Networks and Watch Entertainment.  Janet Annino is executive producer.
