Hi Carter, Thinking of you and wishing you well as always. It's Friday (YEAH) and a blue sky day in Chicago. Carter, giving you a break from me is over :), I have more ?'s. Carter, curious about the hanging of picture and/or wall deco: ? - How do you choose the type of nail or screw to hold the weight of the pieces(s). ? - Is the length of nail or screw a consideration for the weight of the piece. ? - What if the picture or wall deco weighs over 25 lbs, does this change the process for just using a nail or screw alone. Thank you Carter and talk to you later - take care too. Always with a HUG, Susan

A screw into the wood would be the best, and whether it is a nail or screw, the bigger it is the more it can hold. Some of the picture hanging nails with clips found in the store will actually give you a weight that they can hold. Also if you put a nail in just the drywall at an angle it will hold better. There is also drwall anchors that come in quite a variety. Some of the better ones can hold an substantial amount of weight. Good luck with the picture hanging Susan, co.

Hi Carter, We just watched episode 81 and I loved the way you broke up the space in the "bowling alley". You are looking better than ever by the way. My only criticism is that the reveal was soooo dark that I couldn't really see your work that well. The homeowner liked the same colors that I do and I was really looking forward to seeing how you used them in the room but everything was a bit muddy. I'll try watching again tonight. Otherwise great show!

I Hope you are well and have had time to enjoy your favorite pair of flip flops this summer. Question-Do you believe in law of attraction (not litterally, but to believe and visualize to make reality what is in your life)? Well, I am visualizing working on a project with you.. so let's make it happen :) Best wishes to you and yours!

Hi Carter. Thanks for your response. Actually I found recycled tires made into outdoor tiles which are durable in the winter.... So i used those instead! Echo friendly :) Part of that depends on where you live. Some tiles that are more porous can't stand up to freeze thaw conditions. Porcelain tiles are best because they are harder and denser. If you use your tiles just set them in the same way that a you would indoors, but use a more flexible motar that will move more with the surface underneath, therefore cracking is less possible. Thanks for checking in, co

Hey Carter, Thinking of you today as you must be traveling somewhere. I noticed on the HGTV website that more new "Carter Can" episodes have been added for Season 7 so you have been very busy with those projects also, looking forward to enjoying them in July and August. Carter, curious about this regarding windows: ? - please describe the difference between single pane and double pane windows. ? - do bay or bow windows come in both single or double panes also. ? - what about the direction in which the window opens - up and down or outward and inward - are both types of panes available in these window choices. Thank you - Take care and talk to you later. Always with a HUG, Susan

A single pane window is one pane of glass, versus a double or triple pane window has either two or three layers of glass for the window. For a bay or bow window both would be a custom order, so chances are you could order it how you want it, depending on the manufacturer. Many people have gone to the double pane option because of its energy efficiency. Also yes on the opening of windows, some you can find "off the shelf" and others could be custom ordered. Talk to you later Susan, co.

Seriously, a winery too. Two of my favorite things: you and wine. Not fair. Melissa
